Twitter scams con you out of your credit card details
Beware of spam promising to help you make big bucks through the social microblogging site Twitter. Symantec is warning users who receive spam with subject lines such as "Twitter Guru Reveals All" or "Use Twitter to make money" to simply delete them. Clicking on the link will take you to a fake online store where you an order a “Risk-Free Twitter Profi t Software” kit,
purportedly endorsed by major news channels. You will then be asked for personal details and credit card information, which is harvested by the scammers and sold through underground crime networks. Another related scam uses the legitimate DateTwit site's identity. Spam messages claiming to be from DateTwit contain links to websites asking you to log in with your Twitter ID and password. This too will be harvested by the scammers. Twitter has recently been in the news for repeated security failures including the compromization of several high-profi le celebrity accounts.
